Hi LUGgers,

Please see below if you are interested in a student sysadmin position:

The job is a new System Administrator with the Operations Research with
Engineering department. They have several servers which get utilized to
run solvers for projects (AMPL, CPLEX, etc.). All servers are Linux and
are connected to the Mines network, allowing for easy access on and off
campus. The SA will be tasked with ensuring licenses for solvers and
software are up to date, and work with one-off requests from PhD./Staff
associated with the program.

The role requires that the SA work ~0-10 hours per week. They will get
paid a rate of $20/hour for 5 hours per week (note: work one week may be
a full 10 hours, while the next is 0 hours so money will be steady to
account for this). There could be possibility for other side projects
(like helping students in the program with their projects by coding
programs). The position is a full academic year, and needs to be filled
ASAP so that the previous SA can train and prepare the new one for this
year. Ideally, this student should be a Junior, Senior or be doing
Graduate work as this job can continue on into that capacity.
