Subject: LUG: Linux Users Group gets facelift
Message-ID: <20180401114348.GA12247@mines.edu>
LUGgers,
So many startups are using new technologies that we talk about in our
meetings to make much moneys. For example, we have recently had a talk
about JavaScript, and plenty of startups are able to use this
technology in their money making.
And I look at all of this and see... what the heck are we doing not
making money? If we know some of the technologies, who says we can't
learn them all??? Our new meetings will cover topics like:
Ruby on Rails
So I propose that we take initiative to change how our club works and
look towards this new vision. On our meeting on Thursday (when we do
officer elections) we make a bylaw change to our club's name. After
Thursday, we will be known as BUBBLES: Bitcoin Users Building Big Linux
machinE-learning Systems.
Happy April Fools!

LUGgers,
We need a semi-short talk for this Thursday, as officer elections will
be before the talk. LMK if you have a little bit of time and want to
throw one together, otherwise I can just do an old talk!
And if you want to sign up for running for an officer position:

Hi LUGgers,
Apologies, I need to make a last minute change to the LUG schedule
tomorrow; I realized that I'm double booked from 6 PM to 7 PM!!
5 PM: Linux help session
6 PM: Dinner arrives: socialize and have food!
~7 PM: Talk begins when I arrive -- apologies!
I know normally we have 6 PM and 7 PM flipped on the schedule...
hopefully you are OK with this going the other way!

First, are you trying to netboot on the school's network, or your own? I
think part of the typical PXE setup requires you to run your own DHCP
server, which might get you an Email from Phil Romig if you tried on the
school's network...
If on your own network, you would need to either setup PXELINUX and
configure it for the mini image (don't know if the config would be
compatible with the one from the tar.gz), or you could try and do
something like this: https://wellsie.net/p/286/
(which I haven't tried, so no idea if it actually works...)
If it's not on your own network, you would need to figure out an
alternative boot solution such as a small USB drive or floppy disk... so
I guess if that's the case, let me/us know and we can figure something
out.

This would be on my own network rather than the school's, so no DHCP
