Subject: HASS Teacher's Assistant Opportunities -Grad Students

Would it be possible to please send the below information to your Graduate students? In case some of them are looking for Teacher's Assistant work in the coming Fall 2019 semester. Thank you Jody

The Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences Division is hiring Teacher Assistants (TAs) for our Global Studies courses (~75 students per class) in the Fall. We are looking for graduate students with excellent writing skills. A background and interest in social science issues is preferred. Pay is $25/hour for 160-240 hours for the semester (an average of 10-15 hours/week). TA positions generally include grading papers and exams, uploading grades and articles to Canvas, helping with group discussions, and otherwise assisting the professor in teaching the course. Some faculty require TAs to attend class; others do not. If interested, please send a statement of interest that includes if you are a resident or nonresident, how many hours you want to work, why you would be a good candidate, and your semester schedule (for those faculty who require class attendance); resume and transcript; and one letter of recommendation from a faculty member to Dr. Kathleen Hancock, Graduate Director for HASS: khancock at mines.edu<mailto:khancock at mines.edu>. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis starting August 1.
