[eb-grad-students] Newmont Innovation Challenge

The 2018 Newmont Innovation Challenge will be held on Saturday, Feb 3 at 9AM in Brown Hall. We invite your faculty and graduate students who might be interested to be mentors, either technical or business, to come and meet with the student teams. Those selected as mentors for qualifying teams are eligible to receive a $500 honorarium for their participation (Graduate students, faculty and staff can receive a $500 credit on their professional development accounts). Teams compete for over $10,000 in prizes and funding - Participating teams will be selected in an elevator pitch competition held in BB W280/250 from 4-6 PM on Saturday. All potential mentors are invited to attend. Following the competition, selected teams will be encourage to select mentors and receive additional entrepreneurial training. Finalists will compete in a Demo Day Pitch competition at the end of the semester. All participants (including prize winners) will be eligible for additional funding from the $50,000 Newmont Innovation Fund.
The themes of this years' Newmont Challenge are:
1. The role of digital transformation in unlocking value for a sustainable future
2. Finding the mineral deposits that have thus far eluded mankind's search
